Pakistan beat Hong Kong 2-1 in the first semi-final to qualify for the final of the men’s squash team event in Hangzhou, China, on Friday.

Pakistan will face India, who beat Malaysia 2-0 today in the second semi-final, tomorrow in the final.

Noor Zaman gave Pakistan the lead with a 3-1 win over Leung Chi Hin Henry. However, Hong Kong bounced back in the second match as Mohammad Asim lost against Lau Tsz Kwan 3-2 in a close contest.

In the decider, Nasir Iqbal clinched a convincing 3-0 win over Tang Ming Hong to get Pakistan into the final.

Earlier, the Pakistan men's side continued their stellar performance by clinching a resounding victory in their last group match against Kuwait.

The Pakistan team demonstrated their skill and determination to secure a flawless group stage record.

Pakistan squash team won all five of their matches in the group stage which included win over top seed India as well.

Kishmala won the medal, which was Pakistan’s first in shooting in Asian Games history, in the 10m Air Pistol event on Friday.

Meanwhile, India had a remarkable one-two finish as 17-year-old Palak Gulia and 18-year-old Esha Singh won gold and silver.

Kishmala, who helped Pakistan win their first medal in the Asian Games 2023, had a total score of 218.2 whereas Palak and Esha notched up 242.1, which is an Asian Games record, and 239.7, respectively.
